5 Apps You Need on Your Smartphone Right Now

Author: Editorial Staff   Last updated on: May 25, 2022    Leave a Comment

Applications rule the world in the 21st century. Very few people don’t have smartphones anymore, and as younger generations rise to prominence, that number keeps decreasing. They’re just so convenient, and they keep people safe as well. You can always use a smartphone to call for help if you cause a car accident or sustain an injury.

Every person can customize their phone by adding whatever applications they like. Because of this, if you look at two random smartphones, you’ll probably see apps on one that you won’t find on the other.

However, certain apps have achieved massive popularity since most people like using them so much. We’ll talk about some crucial apps you might want to download to your smartphone right now.

Bitdefender Mobile Security

If you work in IT, you probably know that setting up the zero-trust model takes 2-3 years, on average. It’s a security protocol that many companies use. If you’re trying to set up security for your smartphone, though, you need an application to accomplish that for you instantly.

Frankly, if you have an iPhone, you don’t need a security app. iPhones have the best antivirus and overall security technology of any phone model. If you have an Android phone, Bitdefender Mobile Security is probably your best bet.

It costs $14.99 per year. Once you download and install it, you’ll find it has excellent antivirus protection and great anti-theft capabilities. You can also use it with many smartwatches.

With it, you get real-time protection when you use the Google Chrome browser. You can also use an autopilot feature that recommends you take actions based on your typical usage patterns and system.

Amazon

Some people don’t like to use Amazon because they feel like it exploits its workers. Some of those employees have unionized, and others want to as well. It’s hard to ignore how easily you can order products through the Amazon app, though, which leads many people to continue using it every day.

If you download and install this app and create a profile there, you can get the application to deliver millions of products to your home address in just a few simple clicks. If you pay for Amazon Prime, you can also watch a whole content library, including original shows and movies.

You might also create a wish list that you can set to public. If you tell your relatives or friends about that list, they can select birthday or holiday gifts from it to send to you. That way, they know they’re getting you something you actually want.

Uber

Uber isn’t just a convenient ridesharing app. You can also use it for safety. Maybe you’re traveling, and you’re in a city you don’t know very well. You eat dinner and then find yourself out on the street late at night, with public transportation no longer running or not easily accessible.

It’s nice knowing you can just ask for a ride via the Uber app, and the company will send a car to pick you up. You can get an Uber in so many different cities now, and generally, you’ll have a friendly driver who will see that you get to your destination safely.

You can look at the app to see the driver’s name, the car they’re driving, and you can even leave them any special instructions. That’s so much safer and more convenient than trying to find a taxi when you really need one.

Instagram

Instagram remains one of the more popular apps in the world. Almost all cell phones come with cameras now, and nearly everyone feels like they’re an amateur photographer. You want to share the pictures you take with your family and friends.

With Instagram, once you download the app, you can get shots of yourself and celebrities you meet. You can take pictures of your honeymoon in Antigua and make your friends jealous.

You can also look back during later years at the pictures you took. You might forget about some of the great times you had, but Instagram allows you to remember. You might even become an influencer and land some sponsorship deals if you live an interesting lifestyle.

Duolingo

Duolingo has become popular with anyone trying to learn a new language. It makes learning simple words and phrases easy. If you’re going to travel to a foreign country this year, consider downloading the Duolingo app so you can sound just like a local when you arrive.
