Upgrade your Car in 6 Easy Steps

Author: Editorial Staff   Last updated on: November 29, 2021    Leave a Comment

A car is one such asset that can actually elevate your status in life. It helps you move from one place to another which is extremely important in today’s life and situation surrounding the pandemic. However, unlike a house, buying a car is not a once in a lifetime decision.

While it is true that people buy multiple cars in their lifetime, it cannot be understated that the amount spent to buy a car is not that less that you can just take it lightly. In fact, once you buy an expensive car, you would expect a life of around 5-8 years at the minimum.

A good car might surely give you that many years but the problem these days is that the car world has undergone a drastic change and technology has become an integral part of the car interface with the owner. It is here that an issue crops up.

Can you imagine using the same smartphone that you are using today after 5 years? Surely not. The reason is that the physical properties of your smartphone might support durability but the technology aspect might not. The same goes for a car.

Having said that, we are not for a second suggesting that you change your car every year. There are some simple steps following which you can upgrade your car by spending just a few extra bucks. So let’s fire up those mind engines and see what we have in store for you.

Replace Your Tyres

Even if your car came with the best tyres, they will not be the best after a couple of years purely because of the reason that tyre manufacturers are constantly coming up with better tyres for all cars. Hence, the first simple yet effective step to upgrade your car is to go in for replacement of your tyres. Replacing your tyres is one of the best car mods you can do yourself.

Initially, when people buy a car, since everything is new, it seems perfect. Slowly, over time, performance issues crop up and with respect to tyres the most common issue that comes up is of grip. Further, if you live in a place where there are extreme summers and extreme winters, you cannot use the same set of tyres for both seasons.

It makes sense to spend some money on quality tyres. If you are willing to spend extra, never go for all weather tyres and instead opt for two sets of tyres.

Car Mount Holder

This is one of the simplest ways to upgrade your car without spending a bomb on expensive accessories. In fact, accessories that actually add value to your car can come cheaper than the cosmetic ones. When it comes to a holder car mount is one such accessory that does exactly that.

In its most basic form, a car mount holder protects your phone from some unforeseen movements or jerks in the car. Further, the car mount holder can also be helpful in keeping you connected with your loved ones and also with some urgent work communications. You can listen to your favourite tracks while driving.

Secure Your Brakes

When it comes to car modifications that are not cosmetic, one of the most crucial ones that you should consider is analysing whether you need modifications or replacement of your brakes.

Brakes are the most important aspect of driving. The best brakes allow you more time to apply them. In simple words, the better the brakes, the less the time difference between when you apply them and when the car stops. Brakes can significantly enhance your performance, especially when cutting corners.

There are two ways you can go about upgrading your brake system – by simply buying better brake pads (which is a time buying tactic honestly, unless you just purchased a car) or by going for a complete overhaul and replacing the whole brake system (which is what we recommend if it has been a couple of years since you purchased the vehicle).

Consider Adding a Turbo Charger

There are certain modifications that you should do for yourself and then there are certain modifications you should do for the environment. Adding a turbocharger is one modification which you should do for both yourself and the environment. A large number of products are available at wholesale prices at Dhgate.

A turbocharger makes sure that your car can use more fuel during each unit of time. This means that any car which has a turbo charger will produce more power. This is crucial because it generates more horsepower and at the same time can improve fuel economy by as much as 20%.

Buy an Exhaust Wrap

We know this is definitely out there – the pros and cons of exhaust wrap – but we believe that this can certainly count as an effective upgrade to your car. One of the most common complaints people have is that the vehicle gets heated very often and that the horsepower is less.

An exhaust wrap can solve both these problems. The exhaust wrap reduces temperature and thus increases horsepower. The engine efficiency improves and it is a win-win situation overall.

Look for a Cold Air Intake

Another way to reduce the temperature in your car is installing a cold air intake. This also brings in cold air into the engines and thereby increases the horsepower. Needless to say, just like the exhaust wrap, this too provides fuel efficiency and is a catch when it comes to car upgrades.

Obviously, a car upgrade is a question only when you are not happy with the performance of your vehicle and cannot buy a new one. However, many times, technological and manufacturing capabilities increase substantially in just a period of one or two years. In such situations, you may not have an option to wait for a long time. Going for annual upgrades in a slow and steady fashion is a good choice instead of loosening your wallets all in one go.
