3 Useful Ways to Take Advantage of Screen Recording

Screen recording is really fairly self-explanatory, and is basically a way to capture video footage directly from the output to your screen. However what many people do not realize is how useful it can be, and the many ways in which they could take advantage of it.

If you’d like to know some useful ways in which you could make use of screen recording, there are a few in particular that you could start with:

Save online streaming videos from any platform

Most people watch online streaming videos on a daily basis, whether on websites, social media, or within other apps. For the most part these platforms don’t have an option to ‘save’ videos however, so every time you watch a particular video you’ll have to be online and stream it once more.

If you want you can use screen recording as a way to save online streaming videos however, by essentially recording them from your screen. While there are other methods this can be done, none is as universal as screen recording.

It should be noted that you can also use it as a streaming audio recorder if you want to. For example with Movavi Screen Recorder you’d just capture the system audio and save it as an audio file.

Get technical assistance more easily by recording bugs and issues

Have you ever been trying to get technical assistance but struggled to describe the actual problem that you encountered? It can sometimes be difficult to put bugs and issues into words, but instead of that you could capture a video of it with screen recording instead.

Once you’ve recorded the video, you can upload it online and share the link when requesting technical assistance. In fact you’ll be able to get help from sources you may not have considered more easily as well, such as forums, social media, and so on.

Save video calls and conferences

In the same way screen recording can be used to save online streaming videos, you can use it to record and save video calls and conferences as well. Considering Google Hangouts, Skype and other video calling platforms don’t have a feature to do that, this option could be really useful.

Not only will saving video calls allow you to save personal calls, but it will also let you save any business calls or meetings carried out via video conferences. That can be invaluable, as it will let you refer back to what was said more easily.

By now you should be starting to get a better sense of just how useful screen recording truly is. It should be noted that aside from the options listed above, it can also be used to create a wide range of video content – from how-to guides to expert interviews, product demonstrations, reviews, and more.

In short having a screen recorder up your sleeve is bound to be worth its weight in gold at some point or other – so you’d better get one or risk missing out.
