# About

XtendedView is an independent technology site that Tushar Thakur started in 2011, while he was studying engineering in Mumbai. It began as a place to write up what he learned from pulling apart gadgets and software. Fifteen years on, it answers two kinds of question: how do I get this working, and what do the numbers actually say?

## Two kinds of articles

**Statistics pages** collect the figures behind the platforms and products people use, from [Netflix](https://xtendedview.com/netflix-statistics/) and [Microsoft Copilot](https://xtendedview.com/microsoft-copilot-statistics/) to smartphones, gaming consoles and cybersecurity. Every number names its source and date. Our [Statistics Methodology](https://xtendedview.com/statistics-methodology/) shows how a page is put together.

**Practical guides** help with Windows and Android: making a PC look the way you want, fixing an error that won’t go away, or choosing an app that does one job well.

Browse by topic: [Artificial Intelligence](https://xtendedview.com/category/ai/), [Cybersecurity](https://xtendedview.com/category/cybersecurity/), [Gaming](https://xtendedview.com/category/gaming/), [Internet](https://xtendedview.com/category/internet/), [Technology](https://xtendedview.com/category/technology/), [Computer](https://xtendedview.com/category/computer/) and [Mobile](https://xtendedview.com/category/mobile/).

## Milestones

- **2011:** Tushar publishes the first post, “Starting xtendedview.com”.
- **2013:** IndiBlogger names XtendedView the best blog in its gadgets category.
- **2025:** Supriya Gharat joins as Editor in Chief and builds out the statistics coverage with a team of five researchers.
- **2026:** We retire hundreds of outdated posts so that what remains is worth your time.

## The people behind it

Tushar still sets the direction of the site. Supriya leads the research team and reviews what we publish. Articles under the Editorial Team byline are researched and written by staff and checked by an editor before they go live. You can read about everyone on our [team page](https://xtendedview.com/our-team/).

## How we stay accurate and independent

Claims are checked against their sources before publishing, as described in our [Fact-Check Policy](https://xtendedview.com/fact-check-policy/). Some articles contain affiliate links, and a commission never changes a review or a number; the [Disclaimer](https://xtendedview.com/disclaimer/) has the details.
